Third Street Train Crossing

April 22, 2013 by Hubbard County Historical Museum Director

This is an old glass negative from Tom Vogtman’s collection.

Vogtman train @ 3rd St.tif

It looks like the engine is #3033   The engine was built in 1913 and used sometime after that.  It was scrapped in 1953.

Perhaps someone can date the photo by the Model T’s..if you can please leave a comment.

Look at that old streetlight..I wonder what happened to it?

  1. Gene says:

That must be looking west or the river would be visible if looking east. The building on the right side of the photo would be the old old school but it looks like it’s too close to the tracks. I noticed one of the globes on the light post is broken and all I can say is I didn’t do it.

  2. Dot says:

Awww, come on now, Gene! Tell the truth, you’re the one who broke that globe on the light post! You’re right there in the picture, just walking away from it, so we have proof! :)
