Going to the Beach

July 3, 2013 by Hubbard County Historical Museum Director

Were you at the Park Rapids Beach in the 1930’s-1940’s?  If so you might be in this old photograph.  Share some old beach memories by leaving a comment!

City Beach Park Rapids, MN for dropbox

In this old photo you can see the canal off to the left.  The old Stone Beach/Bath House that was built in the 1930’s is on the right.

Many people still gather here, not to swim but to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July.

Happy 4th!  Travel safely!

The museum will be closed for the day, we will be open again on Friday July 5 at 10:30 AM

Our brown bag lunch series will continue at 12 noon on Thursday July 11.  Russ Brown will share old postcards of the area.  Please join us in the resort/business room in the lower part of the Historical Museum.  We are sorry that the room is not handicap accessible.
